How to install Magento theme

NOTE: Importing the SQL file to your database will overwrite your existing content and website settings. DO NOT import the SQL file if you want to keep the existing content

NOTE: ALWAYS backup your database before performing any modifications

First of all download and extract files from the template package.

Uploading Template files

When you are done extracting files from the template archive go to the template files directory and open theme folder.

There you can see app and skin folder.

Upload them to your Magento installation root.

Theme activation

When the uploading is complete open your Magento administration panel and go to System > Design Section.

 

At the appeared screen click Add New theme button in the top right corner.

In the Custom design field select your newly installed theme.

Click Save button to apply changes.
