How to add&manage product tags in magento

This tutorial is going to show you how to add/manage product tags to your Magento website.

Customers can add tags to any product in the tags block on the product page.

To enable this tab:

1. In your Magento admin you need to go to the top menu System -> Configuration

1. Under Configuration on the left, select TM -> Easy Tabs and under General set Enable tags products tab to Yes.

1. Click Save Config at the top right.


2. The tags block will appear below product among other easy tabs.

You can also add tags as a Popular tags block to your category/product pages. In order to do this,

1. In your Magento admin you need to go to the top menu System -> Configuration


2. Scroll down and click Advanced under Configuration -> Advanced in theleft column.

1. Under  Disable Modules Output set Mage_Tag to Enable and click Save Config at the top right.

1. Open your category/product page to see the tag cloud block.

After submitting the tags, you have to approve them. To do this,

1. In your Magento admin  navigate to Catalog -> Tags -> Pending Tags. There you will see a list of the tags needed to be approved.

1. If you click on any of these, you will see the following tabs

• General Information whereyou can change the tag name and the status to Approved. When approved, the tag will be visible on your site and can be aceessed from Catalog -> Tags -> All Tags menu in your Magento admin. To delete the tag, change its status “Disabled”.


• Products Tagged by Administrators if you clickclick on ‘Reset Filter”, you see all your products getting listed. Select the products to which you want to assign the tag & click on “Save Tag”


• Customers Submitted this Tag opens a list of all customers who have used this tag on any product.


• Products Tagged by Customers opens a list of all products which have been tagged with this word or phrase.


1. To save the changes, click Save tag at the top right.
