This tutorial will show you how to use the archive utilities to extract the files from the downloaded package. It’s a useful knowledge as each website template or website engine you download is provided as a compressed package.
Usually the zip archives could be extracted with the default extracting software provided with your Operating System, however if you can’t open the .zip file you can download free trial versions of WinZip for Windows.
Step 1.
To extract the files from the downloaded package, locate the package and right click on it and select WinZip > Extract to…
The other way is to locate the package, double click on it to open in WinZip (if WinZip is set as default software to open .zip archives) or right click on it and select Open With > WinZip
Step 2.
When the file is opened click the Extract button at the top and in the appeared window type the root to the directory where the extracted files would be placed.
When you are done selecting the folder for the extracted files click Extract button in the top right corner. The extracting procedure will begin.
